You probably forgot about me, so let’s do a quick recap.

I’m David. I’m a professional email marketer, content marketer, marketer. I built a database of 110+ email sequences, manually collected, categorized, and labeled.

If you’re reading this email, it’s because you got access to the database, checked the demo, or subscribed to the newsletter.

For 2026, I’m keeping this newsletter intentionally simple. That’s the only way I can write a couple emails per month.

Once a week, I’ll break down one real email that stood out among the hundreds I get, and highlight 3 ideas worth trying.

If you have thoughts on the format (or emails you’d like me to analyze), just reply. That’d be amazing

Here’s the second one of the year!

Email Breakdown #2026002

Company: The Browser Company
Product: Dia
Type of email sequence: Welcome/Onboarding
Email #: 1
Day: 0

What works about this email

#1. It’s personal

This welcome email sets the tone for the entire sequence by feeling personal instead of generic.

It’s Dena sharing the three key moments that made Dia work, like a normal person would say this to a friend or colleague. That framing makes the advice feel earned, not theoretical.

#2. It’s short

Onboarding emails (especially for tech products) are often long, overwhelming, or just a dump of links.

This one hits a nice middle ground: a clear explanation of how the feature helps, plus a single link to the resource center for anyone who wants a deeper walkthrough.

#3. It’s useful

You’ll see this theme a lot in this newsletter.

There’s no upsell or promo; just genuinely helpful tips to get value out of a product that’s still new to most users. The email earns trust before asking for anything.

This is the kind of email I love collecting: email sequences that focus on clarity, usefulness, and timing.
